Five-spice Lamb Lo Mein

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 8 ounces uncooked chinese noodles
  • 1 tablespoon grated peeled fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons five-spice powder
  • 1 (3/4 lb) lamb tenderloin, trimmed and cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 2 tablespoons toasted peanut oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion

Recipe

  • 1 cook noodles according to package directions, omitting salt and fat; drain.
  • 2 place noodles in a large bowl; snip noodles several times using kitchen scissors.
  • 3 in a medium-size bowl, combine the ginger, fice-spice powder, and lamb; add in 1/4 teaspoon salt, tossing to coat.
  • 4 heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over med-high heat.
  • 5 add in lamb mixture; stir/saute 2 minutes or until browned.
  • 6 stir in 1/4 teaspoon salt, water, adn hoisin sauce; cook 2 minutes or until lamb is done.
  • 7 add lamb mixture and green onions to the noodles; toss to combine.
