Ginger Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon grated gingerroot
- 1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 (12 ounce) jar mango chutney
Recipe
- 1 in a large saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat.
- 2 add onion and garlic; cook and stir for 5 minutes.
- 3 remove from heat and place onion mixture in large bowl.
- 4 add salt, pepper, ginger, ginger root, bread crumbs and eggs and mix well.
- 5 add turkey and mix gently until combined.
- 6 roll into 1 ½ inch balls, cover and chill for 2-3 hours.
- 7 when ready to eat, combine 2 tablespoons olive oil and butter in large saucepan.
- 8 cook meatballs , turning occasionally, until tender and golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
- 9 add broth and chutney to skillet and bring to a simmer.
- 10 place meatballs and sauce in chafing dish or slow cooker on warm.
