Five-spice Chicken

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast, cubed
  • 2 cups peanut oil
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1/2 teaspoon chinese five spice powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 inch piece gingerroot, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl mix together 2 tablespoons of peanut oil, soy sauce, brandy, five-spice powder, sugar, ginger root, onions and garlic.
