Christmas Prime Rib

Total Time: 3 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 9 -10 lbs prime ribs (no bones)
  • sea salt
  • fresh cracked pepper
  • garlic

Recipe

  • 1 remove prime rib from cooler 1 1/2 hours before cooking
  • 2 place prime rib fat side up on a roasting rack.
  • 3 season with sea salt, fresh cracked pepper and garlic.
  • 4 insert meat thomemeter into center of prime rib.
  • 5 sear @450 for 16 minutes or 8 minute per side.
  • 6 reduce heat to 300 degrees.
  • 7 cook until internal tempereatue reaches 125 degrees or.
  • 8 2 - 2/12 hours for rare or 18-20 min per pound.
  • 9 remove from oven.
  • 10 meat will continue cooking during resting phase.
  • 11 let stand 25 minuets before carving.
  • 12 serve with horseradish sauce.
