Country Ham In Pineapple Sauce With Dried Cherries And Raisins

Ingredients

- 1 (4 lb) bone-in ham
- 10 whole cloves
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 (18 ounce) jar apricot-pineapple preserves
- 1/4 cup dried sour cherries
- 1/4 cup golden raisins or 1/4 cup currants
Recipe
- 1 stud the ham with the cloves, then place in slow cooker.
- 2 drain pineapple juice from the crushed pineapple into a bowl and add the cornstarch.
- 3 stir until thoroughly blended; then add in the pineapple and preserves; mix well.
- 4 pour and spoon over the ham.
- 5 cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours.
- 6 sprinkle on the cherries and raisins; continue to cook 1 hour, until the meat is very tender.
- 7 remove ham from the sauce and let cool for about 15 minutes on a cutting board.
- 8 cut into slices and arrange on plates or a serving platter.
- 9 generously spoon the sauce over the meat and serve at once.
