Country Ham In Pineapple Sauce With Dried Cherries And Raisins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (4 lb) bone-in ham
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 (18 ounce) jar apricot-pineapple preserves
  • 1/4 cup dried sour cherries
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins or 1/4 cup currants

Recipe

  • 1 stud the ham with the cloves, then place in slow cooker.
  • 2 drain pineapple juice from the crushed pineapple into a bowl and add the cornstarch.
  • 3 stir until thoroughly blended; then add in the pineapple and preserves; mix well.
  • 4 pour and spoon over the ham.
  • 5 cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours.
  • 6 sprinkle on the cherries and raisins; continue to cook 1 hour, until the meat is very tender.
  • 7 remove ham from the sauce and let cool for about 15 minutes on a cutting board.
  • 8 cut into slices and arrange on plates or a serving platter.
  • 9 generously spoon the sauce over the meat and serve at once.
