Ham Casserole

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup swiss cheese
  • 2 cups cooked ham, cubed
  • 1 cup cooked potato, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups soft breadcrumbs

Recipe

  • 1 in a ovenproof saucepan,melt 2 tbsp butter and saute onions until softened, about 3 minutes.
  • 2 blend in flour salt and pepper,then slowly add in milk,stirring constantly.
  • 3 cook until thickened.
  • 4 stir in cheese until melted.
  • 5 add ham and potatoes,mixing gently.
  • 6 sprinkle with bread crumbs and dot with remaining butter.
  • 7 bake in oven preheated to 400f degrees for 30 minutes.
  • 8 *use a food processor to turn day old chunks of bread into soft bread crumbs;do not use fine dry bread crumbs.*.
