Ham Casserole

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons flour
- salt and pepper
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup swiss cheese
- 2 cups cooked ham, cubed
- 1 cup cooked potato, cubed
- 1 1/2 cups soft breadcrumbs
Recipe
- 1 in a ovenproof saucepan,melt 2 tbsp butter and saute onions until softened, about 3 minutes.
- 2 blend in flour salt and pepper,then slowly add in milk,stirring constantly.
- 3 cook until thickened.
- 4 stir in cheese until melted.
- 5 add ham and potatoes,mixing gently.
- 6 sprinkle with bread crumbs and dot with remaining butter.
- 7 bake in oven preheated to 400f degrees for 30 minutes.
- 8 *use a food processor to turn day old chunks of bread into soft bread crumbs;do not use fine dry bread crumbs.*.
