Half-time Chili

Ingredients

- 2 lbs round steaks (cut into 1/2 inch cubes)
- 1 lb coarse ground beef
- 2 green peppers (diced)
- 2 large onions (diced)
- 28 ounces canned diced tomatoes
- 16 ounces salsa (medium spicy)
- 10 ounces condensed tomato soup
- 15 ounces canned pinto beans
- 15 ounces canned kidney beans
- 4 ounces diced green chilies
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoons oregano
- 1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- hot sauce
Recipe
- 1 saute diced steak and ground beef with the onions and green pepper.
- 2 add all remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
- 3 reduce heat and simmer covered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- 4 add additional chili powder and/or hot sauce to taste.
- 5 continue simmering uncovered on low heat for 30 minutes to thicken.
