Brisket With Cranberry Gravy

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 (2 1/2 lb) fresh beef brisket (not corned beef)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard

Recipe

  • 1 trim excess fat from beef.
  • 2 rub surface of beef with salt and pepper, and place brisket in 3 1/2 quart or larger crockpot.
  • 3 mix remaining ingredients and pour over beef.
  • 4 cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours or until beef is tender.
  • 5 cut brisket across the grain into thin slices.
  • 6 skim fat from cranberry sauce, if desired, and serve with the brisket.
