Ham & Potato Casserole

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 teaspoons butter
  • 2 cups gruyere cheese, shredded (most likely you will do the shredding)
  • 3 lbs of golden potatoes
  • 1 lb black forest ham (i buy it already sliced)
  • 1 -1 1/2 cup bagel chips, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Recipe

  • 1 pre-heat oven to 350.
  • 2 cut up potatoes (wedges) and ham and place to the side in large bowl.
  • 3 medium sauce pan place butter and onion on medium heat. cook until tender (5 minutes).
  • 4 add milk and all-purpose flour (stir occasionally) until it gets bubbly and thickens. reduce to low heat.
  • 5 add cream cheese and pepper. wisk until smooth.
  • 6 add 1 cup of gruyere cheese and stir until melted.
  • 7 pour over potatoes and ham and mix as well as you can.
  • 8 cover with foil and place in oven for 1.5 hours. (make sure potatoes are tender)
  • 9 add the bagel chips and rest of the cheese and bake uncovered for 15-30 minutes.
