Gingered Figs

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 20 dried figs
- 1 1/2 cups cold water
- 1 tablespoon light molasses
- 2 teaspoons powdered ginger
- 1/2 cup sugar
Recipe
- 1 place figs and water in saucepan.
- 2 bring to hard boil, then lower heat and simmer.
- 3 cover figs and cook for 20 minutes.
- 4 add molasses, ginger and sugar.
- 5 stir gently in order to avoid breaking figs.
- 6 simmer for 15 minutes more or until figs are plumped and tender.
- 7 wonderful with meat or on their own!
- 8 makes 5 to 6 servings.
