Glazed Meatball Appetizers

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 slices bread
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

Recipe

  • 1 soak the bread in the milk. combine the bread, eggs, horseradish, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl; beat well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
  • 2 add the ground beef; mix well. shape mixture into 1 inch balls. place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. place meatballs on a papertowel covered plate to absorb any excess grease.
  • 3 combine the ketchup and remaining ingredients in a saucepan; cook over medium heat until bubbly, stirring occasionally.
  • 4 add the meatballs to the sauce, and cook until thoroughly heated. serve warm.
