Easy Low Carb Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 -1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 -3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup low-carb ketchup, preferably with splenda
  • 1/4 cup low-carb barbecue sauce (your favorite, or use more low carb ketchup)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar substitute, we like ideal brown
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • cheese, like velveeta cheese, to taste
  • 1 large lettuce leaf

Recipe

  • 1 in a skillet, brown the ground beef, onion and celery.
  • 2 drain off the fat, so the sauce sticks to the meat.
  • 3 add the rest of the ingredients and let simmer on low on the stove for 20-40 minutes, or longer.
