French Meat Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 lb ground lamb
  • 4 -5 medium potatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 -5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon crushed clove
  • butter
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper
  • pie crust

Recipe

  • 1 saute onion and garlic in butter.
  • 2 add meats, salt, pepper to taste.
  • 3 cover and cook slowly, stirring occasionally.
  • 4 peel, boil and mash potatoes- do not add butter or milk to them.
  • 5 add cooked meat mixture to potatoes and mix until well blended.
  • 6 mix in spices to taste.
  • 7 pour into bottom pie crust, cover with top.
  • 8 cut slits in the top and paint with milk.
  • 9 bake in 425° oven for 30 minutes, then lower oven to 350° and bake an additional 45 minues or until crust is golden brown.
  • 10 serve hot!
