Erma Bombeck's Christmas Dip

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (8 ounce) can lamb and beans, mashed
  • 1/2 cup coarsely grated american cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped black olives

Recipe

  • 1 using a nonstick skillet, cook beef and 1/4 cup onions for 5 minutes at medium high.
  • 2 stir often until beef is lightly browned.
  • 3 stir in sauce, chili powder and salt.
  • 4 bring to simmer.
  • 5 stir in beans and simmer 3 to 4 minutes.
  • 6 turn into chafing dish.
  • 7 sprinkle with cheese, olives and rest of onion.
  • 8 serve with taco chips.
