Ingredients

- 3 cups beef or 3 cups lamb, cut into cubes
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3 cups water
- 1 bay leaf
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 in a large pot, brown meat in cooking oil.
- 2 add flour and stir until browned.
- 3 add next four ingredients, and cook until onion is tender.
- 4 slowly add water and bring to a boil.
- 5 reduce heat, add bay leaf and simmer until meat is tender, 2-3 hours.
- 6 salt and pepper to taste.
- 7 note: this recipe can be used as a filling for burritos.
